The dome structure, measuring 18m in diameter, is composed of 9m-long structural frames joined at a central ring. These frames are made using PHP panels, which consist of 90mm-thick paper honeycomb material sandwiched between 25mm LVL. By using paper honeycomb, the structural frames are light enough for students to carry and assemble.
