A “hotel villa” built on a mountainside with a view of the Great Wall of China. The design follows the traditional Chinese layout of a single-story structure organized around a central courtyard. To facilitate easier construction supervision at a remote site, the prefabricated “Furniture House” system was adopted. Laminated bamboo was developed for this project, and closets and shelves were designed as structural bamboo elements to bear vertical loads.
