In contrast to the linear hotel common wing and the guestroom wings, two circular spa buildings have been placed as if floating above the rice fields. The first-phase building features a domed roof made of horizontally laid laminated timber, forming hexagons and triangles. Upper and lower chords are stacked and connected by wooden posts to create a Vierendeel truss structure. On the perimeter is a men’s bath, while a more private women’s bath is located at the center. The second-phase building encloses a broad water surface with wooden walls, creating an open-air bath and sauna where the water level nearly matches that of the reflecting pond.
