Nemunoki Children’s Art Museum

Back

The main design focus for this children’s art museum was to create an ideal facility made of a material familiar to children, where they could exhibit their art work in pure natural light. The roof is made of paper honeycomb panels and uses an equilateral triangle as the modular unit, and three types of simple connections. For waterproofing, a translucent PVC membrane was laid over a translucent corrugated FRP roofing so that natural sunlight could still filter through. The paper honeycomb panel received ministry certification as a structural material.
