From April 29 to May 5, 2026, Sendai Mediatheque is presenting the exhibition Paper Sanctuary – The Reality and Poetry of Ukrainian Refugees.
The venue features an installation using the Paper Partition System, a paper‑based partition system originally developed for use in evacuation shelters. Within this space, poems and photographs created by people who have become refugees due to the war in Ukraine are on display, conveying the realities of their everyday lives. The images, expressions, and words shown in the exhibition offer a moment to reflect on the weight of disrupted daily life and the importance of peace and normalcy.
Dates: April 29 (Wed) – May 5 (Tue), 2026
