Enku Award Exhibition

On the occasion of Shigeru’s receiving the Enku Award, an exhibition of the winners was held at the Museum of Fine Arts, Gifu.
The Japanese touring exhibition of “Paper Sanctuary” held in London. Ban presented the Paper Partition System (PPS), a partition system which transforms any space into a shelter for privacy, dignity and hope, ‘Paper Sanctuary’ marks a collaboration with Ukrainian-born poet, novelist and literary translator Svetlana Lavochkina, Berlin photographer Vincent Haiges, and Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov, now a war refugee in Berlin himself. With a collection of Ukrainian poems and “memories of home”. Donations collected at the event will be used to build temporary housing in Ukraine.
Embroideries by Tomoko Konoike, another Enku Award winner, were also displayed in places in harmony with the poems.
