When asked by Tiffany & Co. to design several storefront facades, our concept was to develop a zigzag facade system with consistent materials, so that a strong identity is formed across different stores, while each location uniquely reflects the local context through its use of materials. One side of the zigzag is glass, and the other side will be a different material depending on the location. This creates completely different expressions depending on the viewing direction, intended to create movement and change on an otherwise static facade. For this store facade, the glass face incorporates fully programmable RGB LEDs, while the opposite face is primarily local American oak panels with a small portion of polished metal.
