This project is based on the idea that New York should continue growing incrementally – as it always has – and on the notion that this is the time for public space to occupy the iconic value of the city skyline. The two towers are characterized by a triangular lattice structure wrapping upwards towards the memorial gardens at the crowns.
The proposal was initially selected as the winning scheme, but the decision was subsequently overturned, and another proposal was ultimately selected.
