Jiufen Zao Xiang Cheng Shi

To capture the surrounding scenery for all of the visiting guests, this project situates the hotel functions at the highest location of the site. To create continuously changing views from all hotel rooms, the linear volume of rooms is arranged in an ascending spiraling manner, with terraces viewing into a spacious and expansive atrium. In addition, retail storefront lines the access road and a symbolic wooden tower chapel defines the edge of the site. The chapel design is inspired by local arts and crafts, and is intended to become the new symbol for the Jiufen area in the Ruifang District of Taiwan.
