The Hokkaido Eastern Iburi earthquake, which occurred on September 6, 2018, with a maximum seismic intensity of 7, caused significant damage mainly in the Iburi region of Hokkaido. The Voluntary Architects’ Network + Keio University SFC Shigeru Ban Laboratory conducted the installation of a simple partition system using paper tubes and cloth at evacuation centers from September 15th to September 24th.
