L-shaped units, which pack compactly and therefore ship cheaply, are assembled to compose a variety of chairs and tables. An early prototype made of bent plywood was superseded by the final, solid wood model. Scrap wood from furniture manufacturers was cut to the desired shape and perforated with large holes to reduce weight and to facilitate connections.
