This is a mobile museum built for a Canadian photographer, Gregory Colbert. In order to realize a nearly 4,000m2 building that can be erected and dismantled quickly and can be transported economically, a structure of stacking 20ft (6m) used shipping containers was developed. Shipping containers are globally standardized and are available anywhere in the world, so by renting only the required number of containers for the duration of the exhibition, it becomes unnecessary to transport the containers together with the exhibit when it travels. In order to minimize the number of containers, they were stacked in a checkered pattern in two rows to create the 200m long gallery. A membrane roof was placed on top of two rows of 10m long paper tube columns arranged between the two walls of containers.
