Budget constraints, a tight schedule, and the requirement to accommodate heavy machinery yielded a design with pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete slabs pin-connected to two four-story steel frame structures taking all horizontal loads. With no beams or bracing spanning between the two steel structures, the slabs could be easily craned in to position. Furthermore, the factory’s machines could be inserted without interference.
