Containing shops, offices, and housing, this complex sits on an irregular, pentagonal site flanked by a railroad line and a large road. To distance the building from disturbances and to offer privacy to the dwelling on the north end, a series of transitional spaces were created. Most prominently, 55 pre-cast concrete piles were erected along the site boundary, supplying the complex with a semi-public buffer zone.
