The site contains a forest unique to Karuizawa, in which beautiful trees grow densely, so I gently inserted the building between the trees without felling them. The undulating shape, width, and length of the building naturally led to a unique form, according to the position of trees on the site. The interior walls are composed of PHP panels arranged to follow the building’s curvature. Thanks to PHP, complex clusters were created within the organically shaped architecture that emerged naturally around the positions of existing trees. As a result, every room features a terrace that captures a variety of views.
