“Maison E,” a 1,200 m2 residence planned for a family of two generations, borders a busy thoroughfare on one side and a quiet residential area on the other. For this reason, it was planned to be private and inward-looking placing various internal gardens and courtyards to compose the private spaces while creating extraordinary scenery. The plan is based on a checkered grid of small and large squares, creating a balanced pattern of living and circulation spaces, as well as interior and exterior spaces. The living room and pool, or family room and courtyard transforms into continuous spaces by opening the glass shutters.
