Frequent break-ins during off-season into vacant villas in the resort area of Puglia prompted the client to request a house with advanced security. Mimicking the mechanics of airport container cranes, the roof of the villa was designed to lower completely to the ground, making it impossible to enter when vacant. The glass shutters and furniture can be tucked neatly into the thickness of the roof.
