The three-storied glass cube is connected at three corners to a full height ivy screen, which functions as the primary structural support, thus the main characteristic of the ivy plant which is dependant on a separate structure becomes the main characteristic of the building, depending on the ivy screen. Because the ivy screen carries the lateral loads of the main building, the size of the interior columns was minimized to increase spatial flexibility.
