In this relocation of the campus from the suburb to the vicinity of Kyoto Station, the lower floor will be a piloti structure that acts as place for the exchange and transmission of information. In order to create interaction between the Faculty of Music and the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Faculty of Music was located on the mid-level and the Faculty of Fine Arts was located on the upper level and the sectional planning was organized to promote this interaction. A framing system was introduced which consists of a tartan grid of 2.7m and 5.4m stacked over multiple levels, according to the requirements of the University the planning can be flexibly arranged.
