A symbolic factory celebrating the company’s 100th anniversary is planned on a site beside the Shin-Tomei Expressway. Designed to stand out to passing drivers and reflect its role in producing high-purity glass for dental materials, the building also features a Mount Fuji viewing space at its top for company gatherings. Because the glass production area requires a larger footprint and the viewing space is smaller, a pyramid form was chosen to contrast with Mount Fuji. To maximize on-site power generation, the entire pyramid is clad with solar panels, allowing even the north face to generate electricity.
