The Big Roof unifies several leisure programs and creates intermediate spaces between inside and outside. All rooms open up to these buffer zones, allowing for a wide range of different uses. In addition, because of the double-roof, it allows for passive energy control that takes advantage of the outside environment, and warm rising air naturally creates an airflow through the tower penetrating the membrane roof, thereby promoting natural ventilation.
