The Kumamoto earthquake was an earthquake with a seismic intensity of 7 observed on April 14 and 16, 2016, causing major damage in Kumamoto and Oita prefectures. Voluntary Architects Network + Keio University SFC Shigeru Ban Laboratory + Kumamoto University Tomoyuki Tanaka Laboratory set up a simple partition system using paper tubes and cloth in the evacuation shelter from April 23rd to June 23rd.
